Bloggers, can our signature changes our destiny? Read my experience below.

About three months ago, I read an ad about a prediction or prognosis of destiny on a website. Since I was interested, I clicked the ad and then signing up. As usual, I fill the form with data needed such as name, date of birth, occupation, etc.

One day later, I got an e-mail from the fortune teller about my future destiny, especially prediction of what will happen for the next three months in my life. The fortune teller told me that before March 23rd 2010 I will experience a big change in my career or job. A change towards a better position in my job, my financial condition, and my life as well.

What will actually happen on me, the fortune teller didn’t let me know except I paid for about US$ 60. Since actually it’s just a try, I didn’t follow my fortune teller’s desire. I didn’t pay. However, what has been described by the fortune teller on her e-mail already motivated me to make efforts in order that I succeed in the future.

A few days later, when my friend saw my signature, she told me:

“Dear, you will never be rich if you don’t want to change your signature!”

“Why?” I said.

“Take a look at your signature. It’s opened. You must close this sign!” my friend told me again. “I experienced the same before until I changed it. And, my life changes then. I proofed it.”

I was really surprised to hear the words. But I try to understand. You know what then really happen, buddy?

Believe it or not, please read this post first. This is about my American friend’s experience (MF). He told me like this.

I have heart set on John Lennon’s songs, especially his “Jealous Guy”. So do my American girlfriend (GF). That’s why we usually play the song while we chat via internet. And, there was an interesting experience chatting with her.

GF : “Do you seriously want to marry me, dear?”
MF : “Sure.”
GF : “Can you show me how?”
MF : “What I have to show you?” I asked her.

MF : “Ww..what….??!!”

GF : “Do you plan to install a security system in our home if we have married?”
MF :”But, why? Why we have to install a home security system?”
GF : “I know you really love John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy”. So do, I. But, why don’t you know the reason?”

MF : “What is the correlation between the “Jealous Guy” and home security system?”
GF : “John Lennon said: I’m feeling insecure…. I’m shivering inside. Don’t you know that?”
MF : “Sure! He was feeling insecure since he was jealous.”

Penis Size Obsession. The History Behind.

Beyond the myth and stereotype that every culture has got a different average penis size, the truth of the matter is that everyone is generally the same. b). Stock up on Fruit. Keeping a supply of fruit on your desk will give you an alternative option to chocolate, cakes and potato chips. Better still, you won’t even have to leave your desk to get them!

c). Don’t Carry Loose Change. This is particularly useful if you have a vending machine at work. No spare change in your pocket means you cannot use the vending machine and no matter how much you want that chocolate bar you cannot have it.

d). Keep Yourself Busy. No doubt you often snack because you are bored. If you can keep yourself busy then you will not even think about snacking. Always ensure you have tasks to do to keep your mind off sweet treats.

e). Invest in an Appetite Suppressant. This is one of the tricks I swear by. Appetite suppressants are small pills you take each day which gives signals to the brain that you are full and do not require more food. They are perfectly safe and help you to get your willpower back and control those snacking at work cravings.

Still about Michael Jackson, or Jacko, this time I want to write about his custom Bentley “Vampire” limousine. When he was modifying his limo by adding it with ornate gold statues, dark wood trim and velvet curtains, he might be thinking that his limo will become the most beautiful limo. But, what people said about this limo? A review writer wrote: “Apparently, Michael Jackson went through a vampire period, because the limo looks like a modern interpretation of Count Dracula’s Carriage”. What does it means? May be the review writer wanting to say that the Jacko’s limo is “disagreeable”.

Bloggers, before deciding to buy a car hearing of people’s comments, especially those who already possesses is useful. Since they are independent, their voices or comments are valid to be considered. This is an example of an independent comment on Chevrolet Camaro:

Bloggers, I don’t know why, since The King of Pop Michael Jackson passed away last month, I really want to post anything about him. About his songs, his love for children, etc. And, this time I’m interested to write about tickets to his sepulture which its availability was so limited so that only lucky guys could get it since these tickets were distributed in a draw.

When I heard about the draw of the ticket, I then remember the lyrics of The Beatles’ “Ticket to Ride”. By changing the word “girl” with “guy”, a part of the lyrics become like this:

Welcome My “New President” Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono

Bloggers, more than one hundred millions Indonesian citizens, including me, gave our votes yesterday, Wednesday, July 8th 2009. We gave our votes to select new president and vice president for the period of 2009 – 2014. There were three couples of candidates. Candidates 1: Megawati Sukarno Putri – Prabowo Subiyanto. Candidates 2: Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono – Budiono. Candidates 3: Jusuf Kalla – Wiranto.

Based on the results of the quick count conducted by the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI), Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his running mate, former central bank governor Boediono lead the polls, securing more than 60 percent of the votes and easily defeating his contenders, former President Megawati Soekarnoputri with 26 percent votes and Vice President Jusuf Kalla with 12 percent votes.

According to The Jakarta Post, local English newspaper, preliminary counts show that Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) won the most votes at polling stations at Indonesian embassies in London, Hamburg, Stockholm, The Hague, Brussels, Madrid, Prague, Moscow and Rome. In London, 89 out of a total 116 votes (or 77 percent) went to the pair. In The Hague the couple also won the majority with 567 votes.

Bloggers, if the official count from the General Elections Commission (KPU) next month is the same with the quick count result, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) will lead Indonesia again for the next five years. Coffee Maker “Gone Too Soon”

Coffee maker had gone too soon from my kitchen and dining sets, hanging on to coattail The King of Pop Michael Jackson who has gone too soon too. My wife threw our coffee maker away since doctor restricted me not to drink coffee anymore last week, whereas this coffee maker had accompanied me in our dining room for several years. Beatific you are who may enjoy coffee without afraid of getting sick.

Beside coffee, doctor suggested me not to drink too much sugar as well. For this reason, I need to eat more sweet fruits since then. Fortunately, there has been a blender in my kitchen sets so that I have choices to enjoy fruits. We bought this blender and other kitchenware like Toaster Oven, Wine Glasses, Kitchen Knives, Pots and Pans, etc, when we got married several years ago. We bought it online, an ease of buying kitchenware available on this internet era. So far, all of these are still in good condition since my wife always maintains it well.

Dear Bloggers, the King of Pop Michael Jackson has gone too soon, like the title of one of his song “Gone Too Soon”. His demise last month has made us feeling sad. But, my doctor’s restriction, that I should not drink coffee anymore, had made me feeling blue, as my coffee maker has gone too soon too.

Baby Strollers and The Jacko’s “Neverland”

Michael Jackson, the King of Pop shocked the world with his demise last month. I really love most of his songs. In addition to his great songs, what makes me think a lot of Michael Jackson is his profound interest for little children, not aside from his own children. Apart from issues around his children, I respect him as he is a good parent. That’s why, when he passed away last month, we didn’t only missed a King of Pop, but, according me, we really also missed an example, a model of a parent, a human being who honestly loves children. The existence of his Neverland proves this.

The question then is: “What will we do now to show Michael Jackson that we love him too? Crying for his demise? Playing his music? Coming to his sepulture?” It’s OK! That’s good. But, according me, there’s one thing that we don’t have to forget, that is showing our care, love for children, especially for our children. I’m sure, Jacko will be happy when he sees parents take their baby on a baby stroller, or on a baby walker walking along a playground; a mother with a sounding sleep baby in her baby carrier do shopping in a mall; parents with their children dressed in infant and toddler clothing on their car seats go on traveling. Parents who love their children.

Michael Jackson had gone, and we will never see Michael Jackson with his children on his baby stroller or his booster seats again, but his name will always be reminded, since he gave the world many things, at least three great things: His songs, his Neverland, and his love for children.

Silent is golden. Really?

Dear Bloggers, we often hear a wise word saying “Silent is Golden”. But, I’ll show you here, that it’s not always true. Read this interesting Chinese old story.

Speaking Skull.

Once upon a time, there was a young ranger. He walked alone across the country, from one village to another, from time to time, when finally he entered a jungle. While he was walking in the middle of the jungle he heard a voice of a grumbling man. He wondered if there was a man in the middle of the jungle. He then looked for the voice, and the young ranger was very surprised, when he found that the voice was coming from a skull, a speaking skull.

Ranger : “Hi, skull. Why are you here? What really happened?”

Skull : “I’m here, because my mouth talked too much!”

As the young ranger was too much wonder on what’s happening, he immediately walked off the skull. He ran out of the jungle. He told everyone about what was happening. This gossip then quickly spread across the country, when finally the gossip reached into the palace of the kingdom.

Since The King already heard this gossip himself, he then ordered his guards to invite the young ranger to authenticate about the gossip. The young ranger then came appear before the king.

The King: “Young Ranger, is it true that you found a speaking skull in the middle of the jungle?”

Young Ranger: “Absolutely true, my Lord”.

The King: “Do you dare to authenticate about your words?”

Young Ranger: “Sure, my Lord. I do.”

The King: “Good. If it’s proven to be true, I’ll give you a large number of rewards. But, if it’s not proven, your neck must be cut-off, since you had already spreading a falsehood across this country”.

The King, The Young Ranger, and dozens of the kingdom guards then went into the jungle where the ranger found the skull. Getting into the place where the skull existing, The King then asked the skull:

The King: “Hi, skull. If it’s true that you can speak, talk to me. Please let me know of what already happened to you so that you are here!”

Unfortunately, the skull wouldn’t say anything, although The King repeated his question several times. The King then ordered The Young Ranger to talk to the skull himself.

Young Ranger: “Dear, skull. Please say something. Say that you can speak, like what you had done sometimes ago. Please!”

Though The Ranger repeated his question more times, unfortunately the skull just kept in silence. The King then became angry. He ordered his guards to cut The Ranger’s neck off. The Ranger’s head cut-off then put beside the skull. The King and his guards immediately went away.

"Blogaholic" syndrome attacks Bloggers. Beware..!!

Dear Bloggers, please be aware of a “Blogaholic” syndrome, since such a syndrome is very dangerous. Beside of attacking Bloggers, this syndrome attacks peoples surrounding them too, especially the Blogger’s nearest family members. Therefore, please never say it’s a trifling. Starting this time, please pay a deeper attention to your self, whether you are already attacked by this “Blogaholic” syndrome or not.

But, before you do that, you surely must understand what the “Blogaholic” syndrome is. Don’t you? Well, let me tell you. “Blogaholic” syndrome is a syndrome that may attack every Blogger at this planet. Here are the characteristics of Blogers already attacked by such a syndrome:

Difficult to go to bed, moreover he or she always sleep less, and 24 hours a day felt too short. The worst thing is that Bloggers suffering such a syndrome, actually, doesn’t want to go to bed if only they don’t think that the next day they need to work. And their wife as well as their children, needs to be accompanied to go to bed too.

Other characteristic or signal of Bloggers attacked by “Blogaholic” syndrome is that their eyes always looked sleepy, and they always looked so tired. When involved in a discussion, they often feel difficult to focus on a topic to be discussed. But they looked so enthusiastic when talking about Blogging. It’s not different from MLM members who always talking about their product everywhere, whenever. They always tell everyone how attractive is Blogging activity.

Moreover, “Blogaholic” syndrome attacked Bloggers prefer living alone in front of their laptop or computer than living in a social community. When it’s in a serious condition, they prefer Blogging than bringing their children and wife to go shopping, traveling, going to a religious service, etc. That’s why a “Blogaholic” syndrome attacked Blogger’s family tend to strive to be a broken home.

Siapa Jenderal di Balik Si Naga Bonar?

Blogger Indonesia, atau siapapun Anda, di saat masyarakat masih baru bisa percaya pada TNI atau masih mengandalkan purnawirawan TNI untuk memimpin negeri ini, setidak-tidaknya dengan terpilihnya Susilo Bambang Yodhoyono (SBY) pada pemilu 2004, mungkinkah seorang rakyat biasa (sipil) seperti Deddy Mizwar ”Si Naga Bonar” ini ”berani” maju tampil sebagai calon presiden Indonesia tanpa di-backing TNI? Biasanya purnawiwaran? Kayaknya, koq, tidak mungkin. Maka, kalau dia berani, pastilah ada ”jenderal” TNI di belakangnya. Maka dari itu, "Si Naga Bonar" kelihatannya bergandengan-tangan dengan ”jenderal”, meskipun masih Mayor Jenderal. Siapa dia itu ?

Dia adalah Mayor Jenderal TNI Saurip Kadi, pria kelahiran Brebes, Jawa Tengah, 18 Januari 1951 ini adalah tamatan Akabri Bagian Darat th’73, Seskoad-th’88, dan Sesko ABRI th’95. Pernah duduk di DPR th’95-’97 dan sebagai anggota Komisi II (Partner kerja Pemerintah di bidang Politik Dalam Negeri).

Bintang Satu-nya (Brigjen TNI) diperoleh dalam jabatan sebagai Inspektur Khusus di Inspektorat Jenderal Dephankam-th’99). Bintang Dua-nya diterima saat menjadi Asisten Teritorial Kepala Staf TNI-AD (2000). Sejak 1 Juli 2000 menjadi Pati Mabes TNI, istilah lain dari Jobless atau dirumahkan. Sejak itu sebagian besar waktunya dipakai untuk menulis di surat kabar, majalah dan juga buku. Salah satu buku yg ditulisnya berjudul ”Mengutamakan Rakyat”. Menurut penuturannya, ketika mengadakan kegiatan semacam ”Temu Rakyat” di kampung saya bulan Januari 2009 lalu, buku ini menjadi semacam Blue Print atau cetak biru bagaimana mestinya negeri ini dikelola. Dan menurutnya, semua permasalahan bangsa ini berawal dari UUD (Undang-undang Dasar, bukan ujung-ujungnya duilt, lho) negara ini yg saat dibuat dulu memang dalam keadaan”darurat”, sehingga dia harus disempurnakan.

Blogger Indonesia, Mayor Jenderal, yg lebih suka berbicara sambil berdiri ini, sepertinya berencana membuat semacam masyarakat percontohan untuk mewujudkan gagasannya sesuai yg ada di bukunya itu. Yaitu masyarakat mandiri, berdaulat baik secara politis maupun ekonomis, sejahtera, dsb. Apakah ”Si Naga Bonar” Deddy Mizwar punya konsep sendiri untuk menjadi presiden atau hanya menerjemahkan konsep Sang Mayor Jenderal Saurip Kadi. Atau kebetulan memang keduanya memiliki konsep yg sama?

Saya sendiri belum tahu karena belum pernah mengikuti ”kampanyenya” Deddy Mizwar, Si Aktor jagoan yg juga bisa dibilang laris manis jadi bintang iklan ini. Yang jelas, di belakang Capres Sipil ini berdiri seorang Mayor Jenderal Saurip Kadi. Apakah sipil memang belum bisa lepas dari ”TNI”, atau ”TNI” yg memang belum mau ”menyerahkan” kepada sipil.

Atau memang itu perpaduan yg tepat untuk negeri ini? Biar rakyat sendiri yg nanti menentukan di pemilu. Tapi yg jelas, sampai saat ini calon dari independen, kan, belum ”diijinkan” maju ke pemilu. Kalau gitu, gimana dong nasib pasangan ini di pemilu 2009 besok?

ymail, Email Address Baru dari Yahoo

Hallo, Blogger Indonesia atau siapapun Anda, kadang kita sulit mendapatkan username dan email address sesuai keinginan kita di Yahoo, karena kebetulan email address tsb sudah dipakai orang lain. Iya, kan? Nah, ini ada kabar menarik dari Yahoo. Saat ini Yahoo mempunyai e-mail address baru selain “...@yahoo.com”, yakni “ymail”. Jadi e-mail address baru ini nanti akan menjadi “....@ymail.com”.

Contoh. Misalnya Anda mau membuat email address “batu.ponari”, maka e-mail address kamu bisa menjadi seperti ini: “batu.ponari@ymail.com” Sedangkan identitas Anda bisa “Batu Ponari”. Sehingga, kalau Anda, Blogger Indonesia atau siapapun Anda, mengirim e-mail ke orang lain, email address Anda akan nampak seperti ini: “Batu Ponari” <batu.ponari@ymail.com>.

Selain “ymail” Yahoo juga sediakan “rocketmail”. Fungsinya sama dengan “ymail”. Mumpung masih baru, belum banyak pemakai e-mail address ini, Anda masih bisa membuat identitas atau username dan e-mail address sesuai keinginan Anda. Makanya buruan bikin e-mail address di ymail atau di rocketmail. Gratis.

Prosedur pembuatannya gampang. Masuk saja di www.yahoo.com Cari “Free Mail: Sign Up”. Klik di “Sign Up”. Isi identitas Anda. Pada “Select an ID and Password” klik tanda centang atau tanda contreng di sebelah yahoo.com. Di sana akan muncul tiga pilihan, yakni yahoo.com, ymail.com atay rocketmail.com (kalau pilihan kamu Yahoo US). Klik pada ymail.com atau rocketmail.com sesuai pilihan Anda. Teruskan sampai selesai. Sangat mudah dan simpel.

Jendral Sudirman, Pasar Malam dan Produk China

Mustinya saya bergembira, ketika Minggu kemarin, 15 Maret 2009, saya bersama anak istri saya menyaksikan Pasar Malam di Lapangan Jendral Sudirman, Ambarawa, Kab. Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Betapa tidak, karena di sana banyak hiburan yg lain dari Pasar Malam sebelum-sebelumnya. Di antaranya seperti yg ada di photo-photo ini. Selama ini, hiburan seperti ini hanya bisa dijumpai di Kota Semarang, yg merupakan ibukota propinsi Jawa Tengah. Tetapi kali ini bisa dijumpai di Ambarawa, yg bisa dibilang kota kecil. Kalau Thukul "Empat Mata" Arwana mungkin bilang "Ndesa". Ya, harusnya saya gembira, di "Ndesa" saya sekarang bisa menyaksikan hiburan seperti layaknya "Orang Kota".

Tetapi kenyataannya, saya justru sedih. Kenapa? Coba Anda perhatikan photo paling atas. Di sana, di antara dua balon besar tempat anak-anak bermain itu, adalah patung Panglima Besar Jendral Sudirman yg ada di kejauhan. Sekitar 75 meter dari anak-anak itu bergembira ria, Jenderal Besar yang selama ini menjadi kebanggan kita itu sedang memberikan hormat. Entah kepada siapa, saya tidak tahu. Lantas apa yg membuat saya sedih?

Yang membuat saya sedih adalah perubahan atau pergeseran yg terjadi pada Tradisi Pasar Malam ini? Memangnya kenapa? Seharusnya saya bangga karena ada kemajuan ke arah sajian hiburan yg makin modern dalam tradisi pasar malam ini. Tetapi, yg membuat saya sedih, getir adalah bahwa kita menjadi obyek, bukan subyek. Obyek apa? Obyek produk-produk China dan obyek budaya atau tokoh-tokoh asing di televisi yang membanjiri arena pasar malam ini. Bisa dilihat di photo, tokoh siapa yg ada di bungkus makanan "Harum Manis" itu. Spongue Bob, Naruto, dsb bukan?

Dulu, waktu saya masih kecil, produk-produk yg dijual di pasar malam seperti ini adalah produk-2 dan budaya lokal yg dibuat juga oleh masyarakat lokal. Seperti wayang kulit, meskipun terbuat dari kertas. Gerabah. Dsb. Hiburannya juga wayang orang, Kethoprak, dsb. Tetapi dalam pasar malam kali ini barang-barang yg dijual sebagian besar adalah produk China. Mulai dari alat-2 rumah tangga, sampai pakaian dan mainan anak-2.

Ada memang orang yg menawarkan wayang kulit. Tetapi itupun dia tidak punya Stand sendiri. Dia menawarkan sambil jalan. Dan sepertinya juga tidak lagi dilirik orang. Jangankan anak-2, orang dewasa juga tidak ada yg peduli atau punya antusiasme untuk membeli. Saya sebenarnya ingin memotretnya, tetapi rasanya "tidak tega".

Ketika saya mencoba memperhatikan patung Jenderal Sudirman yg kelihatan gagah berani itu, saya jadi bertanya dalam hati: "Sebenarnya Jenderal sedang hormat pada siapa?" Mudah-mudahan tidak sedang hormat (atau tunduk?) pada produk China dan tokoh-tokoh kartun Jepang atau Amerika. Tidak, kan, Pak Dirman?

Job Vacancy. Teman-teman semuanya, Pertamina membuka Lowongan Kerja hampir untuk segala usia dan berbagai posisi. Ada bagian produksi, marketing, dan juga administrasi. Untuk posisi manajer bahkan bisa menerima pelamar yg berusia 45 tahun.

Di saat dunia usaha banyak yg melakukan Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja seperti sekarang ini, kelihatannya lowongan kerja di Pertamina ini menjadi alternatif yg sangat menarik. Tips Jitu Lancar Ngomong Inggris dalam 6 Bulan.

Sudah berapa lama kamu belajar Bahasa Inggris? Belajar Grammar, juga? Sejak SD, SMP, SMA/SMU sampai kuliah? Ditambah lagi kursus atau les privat? Tapi masih juga belum bisa ngomong Inggris dengan lancar? Ini dia Tips paling jitu lancar berbahasa Inggris hanya dalam enam bulan a la A.J. Hoge, Director Effortless English LLC.

Menurut A.J. Hoge, Director Effortless English LLC, skill yg harus dimiliki untuk berkomunikasi dengan lancar dalam bahasa Inggris adalah "Fluency", yakni kemampuan berbicara dalam bahasa Ingris -dengan Native Speaker- secara cepat dan mudah tanpa terjemahan. Dia bisa memahami maksud kamu dan kamu juga bisa memahami maksud dia.

Untuk bisa seperti itu, kuncinya adalah LISTENING atau mendengarkan. Untuk belajar bahasa Inggris itu harus dengan telinga, bukan dengan mata. Listening yg bagaimana? Listening yg dapat dimengerti (Understandable) dan berulang-ulang (Repetitive). Karena harus dapat dimengerti, maka mendengarlah Easy English. Inggris yg gampang-2 saja. Jangan yg susah2, misalnya televisi. Itu terlalu sulit, dan tidak bisa berulang-ulang. Sekali lagi kuncinya adanya Understandable dan Repetitive.

OK. Selengkapnya tips mahir ngomong Inggris hanya dalam enam bulan a la A.J. Hoge, Director Effortless English LLC, adalah sbb, hany lima langkah saja:

1. Lakukan "Narrow Listening". Apa itu? Narrow Listening adalah mendengarkan banyak hal mengenai topik yg sama. Jangan mendengarkan banyak hal dengan topik yg berbeda. Contohnya begini: pilihlah satu orang pembicara, dan temukan banyak hal dari dia. Dengan begitu kamu akan menghafal banyak perbendaharaan kata dari dia yg sering diulang-ulang. Pengulangan inilah kunci sukses Listening.

2. Bagilah waktu untuk melakukan Listening. Lebih baik melakukan Listening 4 x 30 menit daripada 1 x 2 jam. Lakukan 30 menit di pagi hari. 30 menit saat di dalam mobil atau kereta api. 30 menit saat pulang kerja, dan 30 menit sebelum tidur.

3. Gunakan MP3 Player atau iPod. Dengan begitu kamu bisa belajar Inggris di manapun. Di bus, sambil jalan, sambil masak, Shopping, dsb. Kamu juga tida perlu khawatir CD-nya rusak.

4. Mendengarkan / nonton film. Ingat!!!! Jangan ganti2 film. Tonton film yg sama berulang-ulang. Kalau perlu hanya satu segment atau 2 ~ 3 menit saja. Gunakan cara ini:
a. Tontonlah film dengan terjemahan (subtitle).
b. Tonton film dengan subtitle Bahasa Inggris. Kalau ada kata yg kamu tidak tahu, "Pause" film-nya, cari kamus, tulis dan hapalkan.
c. Dengarkan / tonton film yg sama dg subtitle bahasa Inggris beberapa kali tanpa di-Pause.
d. Lakukan hal yg sama seperti di atas tanpa subtitle.
e. Lakukan a ~ d setiap hari selama seminggu.

5. Membaca sambil Listening. Lakukan beberapa kali, setelah itu jangan lagi membaca. Cukup Listening saja - untuk materi yg sama. Usahakan untuk selalu mendapatkan materi yg ada audio sekaligus teksnya.

Hanya 6 bulan kamu bisa ngomong Inggris dengan Native Speaker secara lancar kalau tips ini dijalankan secara benar. Berani coba? Kalau "Agus" saja berani, masa kamu tidak? Kalau mau baca2 dan mendengarkan Podcast-nya, kamu bisa browsing di http://www.EffortlessEnglishClub.com
